Chicago Tech Firms Ring Opening Bell at NASDAQ
November 14th, 2010TechAmerica and Lextech Labs, along with several high-tech executives from Illinois will ring the opening bell for the NASDAQ Stock Market tomorrow morning in New York in an effort to promote and highlight the Illinois Tech Index (ILTI) and the expanding innovation and startup economy in Chicago and the state of Illinois.
Lextech Labs won the 2010 Chicago Innovation Awards for their mobile video apps, specifically their product, iRa C3. This program allows users to watch an unlimited number of live and recorded feeds of video surveillance through their iPhone, web, Blackberry devices and/or iPad. Having control and mobility allows security and response teams to close in on situations more accurately and efficiently. Plus, LeX-Ray Vision shows live and recorded video simultaneously using a split screen.
“We are honored to participate in this event with TechAmerica as a part of the Chicago Innovation Awards. Chicago has always been a city of innovation and our company is proud to be a part of that innovation. Lextech Labs is committed to continue to find ways to be innovative with mobile video applications,” said Alex Bratton, CEO and Founder of Lextech Labs.
“The State of Illinois is making key investments to ensure that Illinois remains a leader in the technological revolution, and we are proud to support the Illinois Tech Index on NASDAQ,” said Warren Ribley, director of the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity. ”These outstanding Illinois technology companies are creating the type of high-skill, high-wage jobs that will be the cornerstone of our state’s future economy.”
This is a clear sign that the Chicago tech world is becoming more and more relevant to the nation’s economy, and we’re glad to see it.
