Enproperty.com Goes Live!

July 26th, 2008

After 2.5 years of development and incubation; as well as a few rounds of ‘seed’ financing- enproperty.com is live, operational, and serving real customers.

Enproperty.com is a web-based way for property managers to interact with their tenants. That means online rent payments, maintenance requests, building announcements, and discussion boards. If you are a condo manager; you can also post association documents for your owners.

I am excited about 2 components of enproperty. First, it is a web-based community for tenants. See enproperty.com/portal to preview the tenant portal. This can provide a large apartment complex with that missing community element; or it can reinforce the existing community in your condominium.

Second, we are the only web-based solution that automates 100% of your incoming rent roll. That means tenants pay their rent online, you scan paper checks with our check scanners, and all incoming payments are electronically deposited into the correct bank account. Our system remembers the bank account and routing numbers tied to tenant or owner- and then remembers which of your bank accounts those funds should go into.

We have already met with 11 managers varying in size from 300 to 4,000 units; and none of them have told us that our solution is not beneficial to their business processes. No one told us to ‘go away’.

If you asked me what single component allowed enproperty to build from an idea to positive cash flow for a 23-year-old philosophy major, I would say it was the EXPOSURE. We talked to everyone that would listen about the business. Either they gave us good technology and business advice, or they introduced us to a friend who manages property. That’s the lesson enproperty taught me- talk to everyone who will listen.
